Landfill gas activity, IEA-workshops
The aim of the project is to encourage the exchange of experience, transfer know how to R and D in connection to extraction and utilization of landfill gas for energy purposes.
During the latest two periods of three years the Danish Energy Agency has participated in the IEA-cooperation concerning landfill gas. This cooperation will be continued in 1996/97 by the participation of Hedeselskabet. During the period 1996/97 meetings will be held, during which experience can be exchanged. Furthermore, workshops will be arranged giving possibilities to discuss and illustrate new methods, problems, barriers, environment and energy aspects etc
The IEA-cooperation will also mean that the Danish experience and knowledge to landfill gas has been disseminated in accordance to the export possibilities for Danish companies. Both in 1996 and 1997 two meetings and workshops was held in connection to international conferences, on which some IEA group members presented papers. H.C. Willumsen's presented papers showing a special Danish system for optimizing the extraction of landfill gas by automatically control and regulation of the system. Furthermore a presentation of utilization of landfill gas in decentralized CHP Plant. The group has also been author for a report which will be published by IEA/CADDET as a CADDET-minireview. The content will be up to date information on the formation and emission of landfill gas, and the technical possibilities for utilization for energy purposes
