Energy wood and microfungi

Afdelingen for Skovdrift

Stored chip wood may support a microflora which could cause various problems.

Project description

One is the presence of ascomycetes and basidiomycetes which degrade the dry matter. Another problem is those fungal species (of Deuteromycetes) whose spores may provoke allergy in humans. The project aims at creating expertise in Denmark in ralation to this subject, particularly in regard to possible health hazards for people involved in handling the chip wood during and after storage
