Building envelope for new buildings and energy renovation of existing buildings
In the project detailed programs for calculating the effect of thermal bridges in building envelope constructions have been validated by use of measurements and methods for calculating the total heat loss coefficient of building envelope constructions have been established.
The project is to further the heat economy of new buildings and existing buildings through a technological development of building envelopes, excl. windows. The project is therefore to establish the theoretical, experimental and practical basis for the future building envelope by the following means: - To clarify a range of physical building-problems of thermal nature at highly insulated constructions, cold bridges, new materials etc. on the basis of detailed measurements. - With the results of the measurements to contribute to the revision and support of existing as well as new norms and calculation methods with the emphasis on multidimentional heat flows. - To procure the gained knowledge for relevant authorities, organizations and firms
The methods have been used in the revision of DS 418 Rules for calculation of the heat loss of buildings. The calculation methods have been used in the analysis of a number of building envelope constructions for renovation and new buildings. In this 1. phase of the project the main results is the establishment of methods for the work on developing better building envelope constructions, that has been started in the 2. phase of the overallproject
