Participation of Energy Centre Denmark in the EU Commission's OPET network
The project activities have been implemented within the framework of the European OPET Network (Organisations for the Promotion of Energy Technologies), supported by the EU Commission. The OPET Network comprises 39 European organisations and 8 so-called OPET Associates from non-EU countries.
The project concerns Energy Centre Denmark (ECD)'s participation in EU's OPET network. The OPET network comprises 39 organisations from EU Member States as well associated countries. The aim of the network is to encourage research and development activities as well as the application of environmentally benign energy technologies, thereby fulfilling EU environmental goals. ECD's project activities will concentrate on biomass, solar and wind energy, rational use of energy (RUE) in buildings and dis trict heating/co-generation. The project includes the following main tasks: (a) Information dissemination of EU's 4'th and 5'th Framework Programme. (b) Information dissemination of Danish energy technologies via the OPET network. (c) Arranging 2 seminars with a view to defining the state of R&D within RUE in buildings and DH-CHP technologies. (d) Provision of services to Danish market actors on EU developments in the field of energy. In the fulfilment of these tasks ECD will be in close dialogue with Danish market actors and providing linkage to market actors abroad. The expected key result of the project is to sharpen Danish R&D activities and to help with the internationalisation of Danish companies in the selected technological areas
A key aim of Energy Centre Denmark (ECD)'s OPET activities has been to inform potential Danish applicants about EU's Programmes within the energy field, first of all JOULE-THERMIE. Also it has aimed at helping to assist with the internationalisation of the Danish energy sector focusing on bio- and solar energy, district heating and cooling as well as the building sector. In addition to this ECD has undertaken a number of international networking activities with a view to exchanging knowledge on energy technologies and promoting technology transfer. The support from the EFP has helped to carry out the networking activities in other areas than renewable energy (which have received support from the UVE programme)
