Leading IEA Experts Group on R&D Priority Setting and Evaluation
The project will support Danish leadership in the Leading IEA expert Group on R&D Prioritization and Evaluation and thereby provide an arena for collaboration and knowledge sharing on strategic energy technologies, RD&D strategies andprogrammes and evaluation. Relevant Danish RD&D stakeholders will actively be involved in the activities and will receive results in regular policy briefs. (Energy 11)
The project will support the Danish participation and leadership in the IEA Experts Group on R&D Priority Setting and Evaluation and provide an international arena for Danish stakeholders' collaboration and knowledge sharing on strategic energy technologies, RD&D strategies and programmes and evaluation of RD&D activities. The Experts Group was created in 1994 to promote development and refinement of methodological and analytical approaches to strategic energy technology analysis; to R&D priority setting; and to assessment of benefits from R&D activities. The capacity to apply sound tools in developing effective national R&D strategies and programmes is becoming increasingly important. Senior experts from 19 countries and the EU engaged in national and international RD&D efforts collaborate on current issues through international workshops, information exchange networking and outreach. The results and recommendations support R&D managers at different levels - industry, national and international levels - on information, knowledge sharing and good practises on design, implementation and evaluation of R&D efforts in general. Further, results support CERT, feed into IEA analysis, and provide a global perspective on national RD&D efforts
Senior experts from 19 countries and EU involved national and international R&D programs have worked together about central R&D problems through international workshops, information exchange and communication. The results and recommendations has supported R&D operators on different levels and sectors – industry, national and international level – through information, knowledge exchange and good practical examples of design, implementation and evaluation of R&D in general. Furthermore will the results from CERT, be included in an IEA analysis and contribute to a global perspective on national R&D activities.
The work has been centered about too annually too day workshops, followed by an ExCo meeting.
The Danish participation has ensured:
- Communication between Danish stakeholder, especially The Danish Energy Agency/EUDP, energinet.dk and the energy sector concerning relevant topics that may be included in the work schedule
- Invitations to relevant Danish experts from authorities, science institutions and the industry concerning inputs and participation
- Dissemination of results and recommendations from the group work to relevant Danish stakeholders
