In preparation for an ESCO agreement, the project studied the lighting and ventilation system at Nyrupskolen in Kalundborg. By improving the technical system efficiency, the local authority can expect both energy savings and improved learning. The value of improved learning makes it very attractive for local authorities to participate in such projects. To facilitate the use of ESCO agreements further, simple and cost effective concepts were developed to monitor results, so the ESCOs can provide a quality guarantee. Specific proposals for an ESCO agreement between the local authority and the ESCO company were also prepared.
