Sustainable ressource utilisation of marine habitats for wind farms
Sustainability analyses in marine habitats will be conducted on the basis of the considerable amount of data from the environmental monitoring program. The case object is the offshore wind farm at Rødsand: New interdisciplinary analyses of biomasses and processes will be made at eco-system level, and a model will be made of the physical-biological interaction at eco-system level.
Among the investigated environmental conditions was local effects of blue mussels around turbine foundations, the behaviour of water birds and fish and the effect of underwater noise on marine mammals. The acquired knowledge was scaled up to a regional level in order to optimise assessment of the impact of the wind farms, Knowledge from the local areas was implemented on a regional scale in relation to habitat and species models as a combination to strategic assessment of the effects on marine habitats and ecosystems.
