Photovoltaic LED-light in urban furniture driven by solar cells - development of energy-saving light
In cooperation with out-sider a/s and four designer groups, the project developed seven pieces of innovative Danish urban space furniture with integrated PV cells and LED light sources. The concept shows great potential for installation savings (no cabling) and operating savings (self-sufficient in electricity). A sett was tested in an outdoor environment in Albertslund local authority. Work will continue in a new Elforsk project (340-003), which will focus on extending light operating time – especially during the dark winter months - through more efficient electronic control and regulation.
