Through interviews about and analyses of typical electricity-consuming systems, the project examined how industry can optimise system solutions. Surveys showed that cheap equipment with relatively low efficiency ratios is still purchased even though it consumes more electricity. Companies also tend to over-dimension the equipment. A specific analysis showed that one company could have saved 14% on electricity consumption by choosing low-energy ventilators and permanent magnet motors and a more inexpensive ventilation system. The results will translate into an operational purchasing tool in project 341-014.
