Dynamic light - a new lighting concept in the office environment
Results
The project group conducted a number of controlled tests in DBRI-AAU’s daylight lab to study the users’ individual lighting needs and the potential for electricity savings. The users expressed very different preferences in terms of both illuminance and colour temperature, and they constantly regulated lighting in relation to the task at hand. At 12.5 W/m2 of floor area, the measured input power was approx. 25% higher than the Danish Electricity Saving Trust recommendations. The work is continued in a PhD study (Elforsk 340-036), and the project results can already be applied in the development of controllable LED fixtures.
