Green magnets - energy hungry magnets to be made environmentally friendly

Particle accelerators bring atomic particles close to the speed of light using high current electromagnets. The project aims to develop magnets that will significantly reduce power consumption.
Project description

By combining energy-efficient permanent magnets using classical electromagnetism for a new hybrid magnet technology used in particle accelerators to steer and control tiny atomic particles, the project aims to reduce the energy consumption of particle accelerators' magnetic systems by at 75%.
