Less noise and improved functionality in new wind turbine technology
The project aims to optimise existing solutions to the yaw mechanism for wind turbines, improve properties with regard to noise, fatigue and peak load, wear and service.
Project description
The project will construct a test facility for yaw systems at Svendborg Brakes and a theoretical analysis of the possibilities to optimise yaw systems in the two PhD projects within the overall project will be verified through development of new solutions and subsequent simulation of yaw, tilt, roll and radial loads corresponding to a 3 MW wind turbine.
