Consortium for Electric vehicles in a Distributed and Integrated market using Sustainable energy and Open Network - In short ' EDISON consortium'
The Edison consortium has throughout the 3-years project period developed solutions for intelligent charging of EVs. The idea of concept of intelligent charging of EVs is that the charging of batteries is taken place when capacity is available in the electricity system and the price is low. By securing intelligent charging, the possibilities of increasing the share of renewable energy in the electricity system is raised, as for instance, wind power.
The consortium has developed a concept of intelligent charging, and during the project continuous work has been carried out in the international standardisation bodies to secure that the concept is consistent with international standards, and at the same time to use the experience from the project in the development of international standards. Among other things, an interoperability test has shown that it is possible for an EV operator to integrate into the EDISON concept.
For the last six months the concept developed in the project has been tested on Bornholm where information about different users driving EVs has been gathered.
EDISON consortium: Dansk Energi, Dong Energy, DTU, EUrisco, IBM, Siemens and Østkraft.
