The object of the project was to furnish a dimensioning basis for future offshore wind turbine foundations. This work contributed to greater understanding of erosion conditions around monopole foundations under the current and wave conditions existing at Horns Rev wind farm. Conditions were more complex than anticipated. However, full-scale measurements showed that erosion is not greater than dimensioned for, viz. erosion holes up to 1.3 x the diameter of the monopole (ie 5-6 m).
