Control and regulation of modern distribution system

The project studies two issues in distribution systems 1)Normal Operation Optimization models the load optimal response to electricity price, power system constraint impacts. 2)Control Strategies in Abnormal Operations derives a islanding detection method, proposes control and protection schemes for a varying status power system.
Project description

The project studies two issues in distribution systems 1)Normal Operation Optimization models the load optimal response to electricity price, power system constraint impacts; proposes strategies to treat constraints and minimize the loss; analyzed the relationship between wind power and price, performs optimal bidding for wind power; develops a pricing strategy to minimize the system cost. 2)Control Strategies in Abnormal Operations derives a islanding detection method, proposes control and protection schemes for a varying status power system, develops an optimal load shedding strategy to minimize the damage and inconvenience to consumers.

Results

The project studies two issues in distribution systems: 1) Normal Operation Optimisation models, the load optimal response to electricity price, power system constraint impacts; proposes strategies to treat contraints and minimise the loss; analyzed the relationship between wind power and price, performs optimal bidding for wind power; develops a pricing strategy to minimise the systems cost. 2) Control Strategies in Abnormal Operations derives an islanding detection method, proposes control and protection schemes for a varying status power systsem, develops an optimal load shedding strategy to minimise the damage and invonvenience to consumers.
