The Danish experiences with the Stirling engine and updraft gasification was combined with application of the FLOX gas burner technology for the development of the SEDIOX (Stirling Engine with Diluted Oxidation) concept which is based on the diluted oxidation principle. A trademark is obtained regarding the SEDIOX combustion chamber concept that will be tested in 2011. Concurrently, a new Stirling gasification plant was installed at Svanholm Estate including a new control system for unmanned and remote operation. 1,472 hours of operation and 43 MWh of electricity production was achieved during the project period.
