Preliminary study - next generation of highly efficient waste incinerators
The main aim of the project is to investigate and further document the current need for research application on improved electrical efficiency in CHP plants fired with waste on a grate. (Energy 10)
Project description
The main aim of the project is to investigate and further document the current need for a research application on improved electrical efficiency in CHP-plants´fired with waste on a grate.
Results
Based on previous experience on release of volatile elements from biomass, wood and a number of well-characterized waste fractions, it has been demonstrated that fixation of volatile elements in the fuel-bed is a very likely possibility of decreasing the concentration of these elements further up in the freeboard (e.g. in inner layers of deposits on superheaters).
