The project aimed to evaluate a waste gasification facility concept and plan selected components for a pilot facility. The project constructed a horizontal facility in which fuel and oxygen are injected at one end, while gasification gas and bottom ash issue from the other. Bottom ash analyses showed that the risk of heavy metal leaching is lower than for bottom ash from Danish waste incineration plants, and that bottom ash meets the requirements for use as building materials. With a view to building the next gasifier, the project performed a design study of a range of relevant components.
