SDVP2 Styrdinvarmepumpe version 2

The project’s primary focus is to develop and maintain a system that controls the heat production and electricity consumption of heat pumps, in order to improve local energy efficiency and to optimize production and distribution costs in the overall power grid. The project elaborates on Energinet.dk’s former project ‘From wind power to heat pumps"
Project description
SDVP v2 focuses on ensuring that a forward-looking tool, developed for a specific research project, is technologically and commercially mature enough to be introduced as a platform for the general market. In doing so, the project will push new standards and new products for the benefit of companies, which will ultimately contribute to growth and job creation in DenmarkTo make it attractive and relevant to consumers, the concept focuses in particular on ensuring optimal heat pump operation and on enabling online monitoring and remote diagnosis. An important element in the project is to provide relevant information and establish contact to existing customers and future users. As regards the control and metering part, the project is based on an end-of-line concept where meters and other equipment have been retrofitted to make existing heat pumps Smart Grid ready. However, a clear partial objective is to persuade heat pump manufacturers to integrate these components and functionalities into the heat pumps from the start – inspired by practical experience. This will make the solutions significantly less expensive, not to mention the fact that future generations of heat pumps will be Smart Grid ready by default.
