PURSUC – Improved utilization of the energy potential in manure

The project concerns a new solution for improved exploitation of the energy potential of manure. This project will develop 1) A highly effective Drying Module, optimizing manure for thermal gasification, and 2) An adapted thermal Gasifier (Sublimator) which runs efficiently on manure input. The result is increased economic viability.

Project description
  1. The goal is to make a fully integrated system able to:
  1. Separate the manure
  2. Dry the manure fiber – This with strongly reduced power consumption
  3. Use/borrow the surplus of exhaust from the CHP to optimize the final drying.
  4. Handle the liquid part of the manure
  5. Sublimate the manure fibre
  6. Produce a marketable BioChar
  7. Maximize the use of the produced gas in a CHP system

  1. In order to reach the goal we need to:

  1. Develop and establish a Dryer for drying the fiber fraction
  2. Develop and establish an input system for manure and manure mixing with biomass
  3. Reprogram the PLC for controlling the whole system
  4. Make test runs with pure manure fiber and manure fiber mixed with biomass
  5. Document the findings
