4E-EMSA (IEA) – Participation in task ”International Standards”

Energieffektivisering og ventilation

4E EMSA is an international collaboration within IEA which main object is to spread and globalize methods and technics of electrical motors and motor systems. The primary object is energy savings. This project ensures Denmark participation in the task “International Standards”. Find further information on: http://motorsystem.org

Project description

This project is a very strong, new and important addition to the on-going project: EUDP 11-II, 4E EMSA Part II, which runs until the end of 2014. Denmark has from the beginning of EMSA played a significant part in this project and the Swiss project management of EMSA now wishes for an increased involvement from Denmark. This new addition is in the form of participating in EMSA Task: !International Standards” which for the coming period is hugely expanded and are specifically aimed at monitoring and participating in IEC SC22G WG12. This new working group 12 aims to create a new test standard: IEC 61800-9 which handles standardized test methods in the relation of motors and frequency converters combined thereby looking at more than just motor itself.

This future standard will open possibility for authorities to legislate regarding energy efficiency on motor systems thereby focusing manufacturers to improve their products even more in this matter. It´s also very important for Demark to participate in this work to ensure that the test method will  be as simple as possible which again will make law enforcement much easier not to mention cheaper.
