Energy savings by continuous monitoring at device level

The vision is to avoid loss of energy by monitoring technical installations in an easy, cheap and flexible way. The novelty is that you simply glue sensors onto cables and pipes to monitor devices. It allows the known benefits from existing industrial systems for continuous monitoring at device-level to be extended to a much wider use.

Project description

Our goal is to give our small contribution to a sustainable society, by delivering a system that monitor technical installations to avoid loss of energy – in an easy, cheap and flexible way.

As outlined in the EU 20-20-20 plan, the Danish Energy Agreement of March 22, 2012, and the 2013 climate plan, there is a strong focus on energy savings in existing buildings and industries, because loss of energy leads to unnecessary environmental and economic burdens. As known from industrial production, it is already possible to identify present and emerging problems and reduce overconsumption of energy by continuous monitoring at the level of the single production devices. The challenge of the current systems is, however, that the expenses to install and operate an entire package of needed meters and data-loggers limit the areas of use. Moreover, such monitoring systems are often complicated to retrofit at existing installations and difficult to fit in, as they are often quite big.

In this project, we will develop and demonstrate the ReMoni system that is designed to overcome these challenges. It will be developed form the current prototype level to a running full scale demo installation, that will be demonstrated and tested at representative installations, and matured for serial production and market entrance.

ReMoni deliver precise measurements of energy consumption, automatic warnings in case of overconsumption of energy, remote surveillance, etc.

It is easy and flexible, as you simply glue the sensor units on your pipe, cable, etc. without the need of invasive intervention.

ReMoni is cheap because we are able to use simple sensors, which you can attach yourself. Our core secret is to use complex mathematical models, rather than expensive and complex hardware.
