PV-StarLight / Architectural BIPV Modules with Built-In Light Diodes
The project goal is to widen the application of solar cells on facades in urban spaces by refining the architectural expression via innovative building integrated solar cells (BIPV) by using built-in light diodes and more. From being very large dark solar cell walls after sundown and in winter days, the project will enable a transformation of these facades to lighting and life giving urban spaces in the night. The solar cell facades are now turned into a part of the Architecture of the Night via an artistic expression or via information to people in the city, via feeling of safety in dark areas, via billboard and more. Partners in the project are both the actual manufacturer of the advanced life giving solar cell technologies, architects, engineers, advanced façade developers for large scale building projects as well as experts with knowledge regarding the use of solar cells in urban spaces.
