Development of LED lighting for EX areas.
The purpose of the project is to develop LED lighting solution for EX areas that comply with the requirements for the EX standards concerning protection against explosive gas atmospheres, combustible dust etc. Replacing of existing lighting solutions with LED solution on oil platforms etc. will reduce the power consumption with at least 50%.
Project description
This product development project will contribute to support the global energy savings initiatives. Developing LED lighting solution which can be used in EX areas (environment with need for protection against explosive gas atmospheres and combustible dust), that can replace existing lighting solutions with energy saving LED solution, will contribute to the electricity savings with minimum 50%. The LED solution for EX areas can be used in industries like oil/gas, marine, mining and aerospace. Resolux will focus on all segment but the offshore oil industry will be the primary segment. Resolux expects that the average investment size for total replacement of lighting solution for one offshore oil platform will be 900.000 DKK and the average electricity savings will be 262.800 kWh per year. The payback on the for total LED replacement investment will be less than 1,4 year and the electricity savings will reduce the CO2 emission significant.
