Single Blade Exchange without Crane

Blade replacement in wind turbines is costly due to the large cranes needed. The Single Blade Exchange without crane system will be able to do the replacement of blades without a mobile crane and with only one 40-foot container on site.
Project description
The objective of the project is to develop a single blade exchange system without a crane for wind turbines. The Single Blade Exchange system without crane will lower the costs when replacing the blades in wind turbines signficantly. The idea is a single blade exchange system that can replace the traditional mobile cranes standing on the ground. The principle of the Single Blade Exchange without Crane system is that the separate parts can be carried around in just one 40 ft container. The independency of the mobile crane is the main reason why the blade replacement costs will be lowered and thereby make the wind industry more
competitive compared to other energy producing industries.
