H2S management system - H2SMAN
H2SMAN will develop, test and demonstrate an alternative to currently applied H2S management systems in the oil and gas sector, to eliminate overdosing and discharge of excess scavenger to the sea, which constitutes the largest environmental impact from several platforms. This will allow for less environmental impact during hydrocarbon production in the Danish North Sea, along with a significant cost reduction for the operators.
A full-scale H2S management system will be built, installed and tested on two offshore oil and gas installations in the Danish part of the North Sea. A system comprising real-time continuous H2S concentration measurement using a H2S detection sensor along with an integrated and automated scavenger-dosing system has never been developed nor tested full-scale offshore before.
The objectives of the H2SMAN project are:
1) Design of the H2S management system, applicable for integration on existing offshore production facilities.
2) Build the H2S management system
3) Preparation, installation and integration of the system on two offshore production facilities operated by two different operators.
4) On-site test to demonstrate and verify optimal measuring point.
5) Analyze and validate data. Confirm full business case for implementation of the H2S management system.
6) Prepare to commercialize the H2S management system
