EnClose - Smart facadeskin for new built and retrofit

The purpose of this project is to develop and demonstrate a competitive façade system with solar
cells integrated, which can be applied both for new buildings as outer surface and as outer surface
of energy renovated older buildings, targeting multistory houses.
Project description
The project will develop and demonstrate a competitive façade system with solar cells integrated,
which can be applied both for new buildings as outer surface and as outer surface of energy
renovated older buildings, targeting multistory houses. The system will be a standardized, certified
and CE marked building material, which is delivered tailor made to every façade I terms of
dimension, shape and color. The system will be delivered as a complete set with flashing parts and
other fittings enabling the façade change, and it will also include the needed electrical system for
connection the PV to the electricity system of the building. The system is genuine BIPV, which as
an outer surface of the building complies with all fire resistance requirements, and further will
function as a weatherproof climatic shield for the building. The system is from an architectural
viewpoint aesthetically pleasing, and will be delivered to the building site as a set where the
builders mount this system similar to other façade systems. The delivery time will be between 6
and 8 weeks from order.
The system can be delivered at a marginal price of 500-600 dkk pr m2, and with durability similar
to most average building materials. Thus the renewable electricity production provides a simple
system pay-back time of 5-6 years, and the whole investment is paid back at least 4 times during
the lifespan of the façade.
