EcoPack Ejector Optimized Value Pack
The goal is to improve the yearly efficiency by 13% at smaller supermarket plants based on Advansor's model series Value Pack (40 to 100 kW). The size to be tested is the largest model optimized with ejector to total refrigeration capacity of 130 kW. The result will be achieved by scaling Danfoss controls with ejector down to this segment as well as by optimizing Advansor's model series with new compressors.
EcoPack Ejector Optimized Value Pack is a project which aims to increase the efficiency of small to medium sized refrigeration systems for supermarkets. The latest development of ejectors has been aimed at larger CO2 refrigeration systems. Ejectors utilize the energy otherwise lost in the system when throttling from high to medium pressure. In this project, controls and components are developed for refrigeration systems from 40 to 130 kW, based on the range up to 100 kW without ejector. The capacity, efficiency and reliability are documented in the laboratory and in a supermarket. The goal is to improve the yearly efficiency by 13 % and to aim for a return on investment in less than three years. The results of the project will advance the market introduction and expand the applications of CO2 refrigeration to warmer climatic conditions. In Denmark alone, the savings potential is app. 43 GWh. The partners are Advansor, Danfoss, COOP, Super Køl and DTI, who is also serving as the project manager.
The project is divided into three work packages:
- Preparation of EcoPack for test
- Test of EcoPack in laboratory
- Demonstration of EcoPack in supermarket (COOP).
