SEM Blade Coater
Eltronic [ELT] and Airtech [AT] are both technology companies that together will develop semi-automation solution for painting of blades for wind turbines. This project will contribute to reduce the operation cost, reduce the consumption of paint and electricity, reduce investment in exhaustion, reduce the consumption of tools and improve the working environment for employees in the blade production industry. With the use of the Safe, Enviromental and Mobile Blade Coater [SEM-BC] and use roll-on technique instead of spray painting, the cost of painting blades for wind turbines will be significantly reduced and contribute to reduction of COE in the wind energy sector. The SEM-BC will be useable on all blade designs, the SEM-BC standardized the painting process and the SEM-BC is flexible (easy to dismantle and assembly) so the SEM-BC can be used for flexible production and moved to other production line or factory. The SEM-BC will make the OEM's of plade production capable of increased flexibility and optimization of production layout, due to it no longer will be necessary to have same amount of man lifts or same degree of ventilation. The target for ELT/AT is 25% of total market in 2024 (sales of 100 SEM-BC unit in total in 2024) and 40% of the market on long term. The plan is to have the technology ready for sale in the beginning of 2021 and will be marketed by ELT/AT in Europe and China. The global cooperation partner of AT, Graco, will assist in the initial marketing phase and the global sales set-up of ELT will be an important, supporting factor in this process.
