Flexible use of power from solar cells in Mollerup Golf Club

The purpose ofthe project is to demonstrate, that a flexible way of using power from solar cells can improve the impact off solar cells dramatically. Mollerup Golf Club spends at average 250.000 D.kr. pr. Year for power (at the moment 'black'). A great part ofthe power is used in the evening or at night, which means that a stand-alone solution with solar cell, only will have limited effect. As part of the local community Mollerup Golf Club wants to support the green agenda as expressed in UN's 'Sustainable Development Goals'. By the combination of solar cells and battery technology, the project will demonstrate amore efficient use ofthe green power produced by solar cells by using app. 75 %.
The FASS project (Flexible use of electricity from solar cells in Mollerup Golf Club) has the overall purpose of reducing the clubhouse’s purchase of electricity by using as much of the electricity from the club’s solar panels as possible. A great part of the electricity consumption is placed in the evening/night, which makes a battery solution interesting.
The project is supported by ELFORSK with DKK 210,000. VisBlue is a partner in the project and has until 1.3.2021 made a battery available for the project, which was completed in the period 1.1.2020 to 30.6.2021.
In March, the board of Mollerup Golf Club decided to acquire the battery permanently and to expand the solar panels. The club's board has thus stated that they are satisfied with the results achieved on the given terms.
