Smart Green Indoor Climate Manager
The solution targets existing and new single-family houses (detached houses and semi detached houses) in the VELUX Group's and Nilan's current markets - Denmark, the Nordic countries and the EU. The focus is primarily on single-storey buildings, or with utilized roofs, and with roof windows and mechanical ventilation.
The system includes control of: Roof windows (natural ventilation and solar shading), mechanical ventilation with heat recovery and hybrid ventilation, cooling and heating systems - heat distribution system and heat pumps district heating unit or boiler (mainly the EU). The building's thermal properties - including thermal insulation and heat accumulation are included to ensure the greatest possible energy flexibility via the intelligent control. The system architecture and control can be used alone with a primary focus on energy efficiency and indoor climate - or as part of intelligent building, integrated with other platforms. The intelligent control works with the VELUX Group's and Nilan's products, and with the option of simple and easy integration of third-party products and installations.
In the project's work packages, a number of products are developed and tested that are easily combined into a package solution for any type of single family house on the market – existing and new buildings in the EU and the Nordic countries. The solutions are demonstrated in four single-family houses - two in Denmark, one in Germany and one in France.
The development includes: Wireless sensor solutions, digital interfaces with actuators for controlling the selected technologies, gateway and intelligent adaptive control, user interface and a configuration tool for selection and dimensioning of solutions for a specific building.
The main objective is to offer the market cost-effective solutions creating value by reducing energy consumption to maintain the desired indoor climate.
The intelligent control works with the VELUX Group's and Nilan's products, and with the option of simple and easy integration to third-party products and installations.
The project develops, tests and documents solutions including: Wireless sensor systems, digital interfaces with actuators for control, gateway with intelligent adaptive control, user interface with app. and configuration tool for selecting between alternatives.
The solutions target existing and new single-family houses in the VELUX Group's and Nilan's markets - primarily the Nordic region and the EU and are demonstrated in four typical single-family houses - two in Denmark, one in Germany and one in France.
Smart Green Indoor Climate Manager is being developed in a close collaboration between the VELUX Group, Nilan and the Danish Technological Institute.
