EUDP 2021-II IEA-participation as delegate—EOR TCP
The IEA TCP on EOR will remain an important forum for knowledge sharing between world-leading EOR experts. IEA have allocated six specific areas of focus for the IEA EOR cooperation. Denmark hosted the symposium and workshop in ‘88, ‘97, ‘07, and ‘18. Each time it has had a positive impact on cooperation opportunities and visibility of Danish research.
The IEA EOR Executive Committee consists of one national expert from each member country in the collaboration. This international collaboration also contributes to ensuring the relevance and quality of our national education and research. Easily available oil is decreasing thus EOR research will still be important during the next 20-40 years. At the same time, lower oil price will increase the need for international collaboration on the topic. The IEA TCP on EOR will therefore remain an important forum for knowledge sharing between world-leading EOR experts. IEA have allocated six specific areas of focus for the IEA EOR cooperation: 1. Studies of fluids and interfaces in porous media 2. Generic research on surfactants and polymers 3. The development of gas injection techniques 4. Thermal Recovery processes 5. Dynamic reservoir characterization 6. Emerging technologies.
The Executive Committee will determine the current focus areas to be discussed in detail at the annual symposium and workshop and selects relevant presentations among the abstracts submitted from the member countries. Denmark has been hosting the symposium and workshop in 1988, 1997, 2007, and 2018. Each time it has had a positive impact on cooperation opportunities and visibility of Danish research.
