IEA Bioenergy Task 34 Direct Thermochemical Liquefaction
Representation of Denmark as NTL (National Technology Lead) in IEA Task 34 Direct Thermochemical Liquefaction (DTL). Denmark joined the task for the 2019-2021 triennium and continued to be a member in the 2022-2024 triennium. The role of the NTL is to represent Danish interests in the task and to ensure effective dissemination of relevant knowledge within the DTL field to Danish stakeholders ranging from policy through research to commercialization and vice versa
Denmark has joined IEA Task 34 Direct Thermochemical Liquefaction for the triennium 2019-2021. Within this period, a significant interest in liquefaction technologies has manifested itself in at least two new startups as well as dedicated funding to pyrolysis on the national budget for 2021. This application concerns the role as national technology lead (NTL) for the coming triennium, and the activities foreseen to further Danish research and industrial development interests within this particular field of advanced biofuels. These will align themselves with the Work Programme defined by the Task 34 leader and members, and will involve dissemination activities, reviews and capacity evaluations, newsletters and technical activities. The purpose will be to ensure maximum visibility for Danish strongholds for technical collaboration, policy making and strategic planning, and to establish and engage in valuable international networks to facilitate these objectives.
