Solar energy roofs for Active House energy renovation

It is agreed to realise a EUDP supported project aimed at development, test and documentation of ''Solar Energy Roofs for Energy Renovation'', where there is a special focus on how to obtain the best possible integration of the 3 important elements: Solar Energy Roofs, energy renovation and use of district heating, and to optimise this in an overall ''Active House'' energy balance quality related to the classes A, B, C and D which can be identified in the so called ''Active House specifications'' at the homepage, www.activehouse.info

Project description

It is agreed to realise a EUDP supported project aimed at development, test and documentation of ''Solar Energy Roofs for Energy Renovation'', where there is a special focus on how to obtain the best possible integration of the 3 important elements: Solar Energy Roofs, energy renovation and use of district heating, and to optimise this in an overall Active House" energy balance quality related to the classes A, B, C and D which can be identified in the so called ''Active House specifications'' at the homepage, www.activehouse.info The companies VELUX and Danfoss is already project leaders of a proposed ''Solar Energy Combined Heat and Power'' project for the housing area Grenhusene in Hvidovre, with 158 courtyard houses from the 1950's, which will be energy renovated e.g. with new roofs and new DHW supply. It is here the idea to introduce Arcon Solar Heating high temperature solar collectors into a ''Solar Prism'', which will be realised by VELUX, while Danfoss is responsible for the overall district heating and heating solution for the housing units. It is the aim to work on a development and test programme for these innovative ''Solar Prisms'' together with similar work on ''Solar Energy Roofs'', which can be introduced and full scale tested in relation to a ''Solar Energy Combined Heat and Power'' project for 2 test housing blocks in the Ringparken housing area in Roskilde. By ensuring a combined development of both PV and solar heating solutions in connection to ''Solar Energy Roofs'' an important synergy is obtained together with useful experiences before the mentioned energy renovation project in Hvidovre can be realised, and in connection to large scale energy renovation of 560 housing units in all in housing blocks in Ringparken in Roskilde, where a real large scale test of the technology can be obtained
