Livø - Further implementation of energy supply opt

The purpose of the project is to fully implement an off-grid renewable energy solution for Livø Island. A previous project has - based on e.g. the amount of local energy sources from agriculture and forrest - identified biogas, PV and probably also a few small wind turbines as relevant RE options.
Project description
In 2011, the Danish Nature Agency carried out the project "Green Livø - a sustainable cultural environment". A very central part of the project was to analyse how Livø, which has no electrical connection to the main land, can be supplied with the highest possible amount of renewable energy. As part of the project in 2011 has - as a first step (Phase 1) - been identified the following energy solutions to replace the existing energy supply from the diesel generators: 1) Renovating/replacement of existing DH network and electrical grid, 2) Establishment of PV panels and probably also a few small wind turbines, 3) Establishment of small biogas plant/unit, 4) Overhaul of existing wood boiler and 5) Replacement of existing diesel generators.I a later phase (not part of this application), it is expected to make the energy supply at Livø even more based on renewable energy. This may also include the possibilities related to the ferry transport to/from the island as well as the internal transport at the island and the agricultural machinery. The project will - with Livø as case - contibute to define suitable renewable energy solutions fro small islands and other remot areas.
