H2Station® R&D

The H2Cost project is to reduce cost of alkaline electrolyze technology and hydrogen refueling stations. New components are to be developed that are optimized with respect to cost and significantly increases hydrogen production and refueling capacity. Continued R&D and commercialization efforts are to be planned in detail.

Project description

The H2Cost project is to reduce cost and increase technical performance of 2nd Gen. kW alkaline electrolyze technology (2nd Gen. AEC) from GreenHydrogen.dk ApS (GH) and components for Hydrogen Refueling Stations (HRS) from H2 Logic A/S.

The motivation for H2Cost is based on the past years of successful base development of the addressed technologies which now enables a next step on further cost reduction and expansion of market opportunities.

GH and DTU-MEK has developed and pre-tested 2nd Gen. AEC technology through the past EUDP supported projects and will through H2Cost conduct further development that enables a further cost reduction and an increase of electrolyze production capacity.

H2L has successfully developed components for HRS through the EUDP project “HyProvide-HRS” in collaboration with Gramstrup Køling A/S (GK). The components are applied in the

H2Station® CAR-100 product that is one of few worldwide capable of 3 minutes 70MPa hydrogen refueling.

A continued HRS roll-out beyond 2015+ however requires an increased HRS capacity and reduced cost where continued R&D and improvement HRS components is core challenge and task that H2L and GK will address in the HyCost project.
