Project description
The SmartMEA project aims to develop the next generation high temperature PEM electrodes for improved durability and performance working under SmartGrid conditions. Focus is on electrode optimization and new electrode structures, that both reduced resistance, improve catalyst utilization and and improve the acid retention properties of the electrode. This will be achieved by systematic studies of the electrode properties and development of new reinforcements and binder materials for electrodes. As part of the project specifications for Fuel Cells operating in a SmartGrid will be defined based on simulation of a SmartGrid systems. This work will lead to a test protocol for Smart MEAs
