H2Cost-2
The H2Cost-2 project are to continue efforts on cost reduction and increase of capacity and performance of MW alkaline electrolyser technology from Greenhydrogen.dk ApS and cooling technology for hydrogen fueling stations from Nel Hydrogen A/S. H2Cost-2 is a continuation of the successful H2Cost-1 project supported by EUDP.
GreenHydrogen and DTU are to collaborate on continued development of electrolysis technology with the aim to enable a use of this for production of hydrogen at fueling stations for commercial FCEVs. Among others a new monitoring system is to be developed that verifies that the produced hydrogen quality is in accordance with car manufacturers specifications. Also the investment cost for electrolyser plants are to be reduced with 30% through increased power density of the electrolyser cells.
Nel Hydrogen, Gramstrup Køling and Teknologisk Institut are to further develop the unique and patented cooling technology for hydrogen fueling stations that was developed in H2Cost-1. Cooling of hydrogen during fueling is important for achieving a fast fueling time comparable to gasoline. Among others the cooling capacity is to be doubled enabling hydrogen to achieve a comparable fueling capacity as gasoline stations. Also the cost of the cooling system is to be reduced contributing to reducing investment costs for hydrogen fueling stations.
The project is to result in the construction and test of a prototype for the electrolyser and the hydrogen cooling system, which is to validate project results and enable a following commercialization.Key figures
