The project group developed a method to characterise the dynamic properties of solar shading in connection with the current window the project group wants to use and not just an old standard window. The WIS programme calculates the overall properties of the solar shading and the window more realistically. A new calculation programme LightCalc, integrated into BuildingCalc, is able to simulate daylight conditions in buildings and calculate the dynamic effect of solar shading. In addition, the building simulation programme BSim has been extended during the project to handle dynamic setting of solar shading louvres.
