LT-CFB demonstration plant - phase 1
The purpose of this project is to design a demonstration plant based on the Low Temperature Circulating Fluidised Bed (LT-CFB) gasification technology. The demonstration plant is based on 2 test facilities, placed at DTU, and knowledge developed over a decade.
Results
The objective of this project was to establish a firm basis for making a decision whether to build a demonstration plant based on the LT-CFB gasification technology or not. Based on the results from this project, it was decided to build the demonstration plant and funding was secured from within DONG Energy, from and programmes and from partners in the project. The demonstration plant will be 6 MWh and will be commissioned using straw pellets. Later on, other fuels will be tested. The demonstration plant will be placed at Asnæs Power Station near Kalundborg adn the gas will be cofired with coal in unit 2. (Energy 11)
