Dynamic Allocation of Power to EVs

The objective is to test and demonstrate technically a real smart grid case with limited power capacity on a single radial, mix load and charging of several EV's. The case is selected such that the test can be achieved with current players on the market and with the goal of demonstrating maturity and scalability of the technology

Project description
With the DynaPower-project, we develop and demonstrate a new market solution. The Dynapower solution will secure the grid capacities against load issues, where demand outstrip supply. Grid companies usually works with a limitation on how much, load the customer can maximally use. On the opposite side, the electricity customer usually purchase above and beyond a peak limit it can reach. Either way, the grid company Ievy sometimes hefty fines for any discrepancy. Dynapower is a bottoms-up approach, for grid customers to have a financial incentive for limiting violations, where demand is greater than the maximum purchase agreement. The resulting peak load from a charging EV fleet, would be an example, where this predicament could be reached easily. However, shorter charging times will also assure increased flexibility options to move capacity needs to another point in time, thus Iowering peak demand times. The customer avoids violating the terms of their supply agreement, with the
grid company through the DynaPower flexibility tool. ln addition, the grid company has an interest in having an aggregator flexibility tool available in the market, to handle peak ooad issues as described above from an EV fleet. These are the foundations for this project.
