ELEC-TO-HEAT

The objective of the project is to further develop and improve the main components of the first generation SUNTHERM domestic heating system.
Project description
During the course of the past three years SUNTHERM has been developing the first generation of its unique domestic heating system with integrated heat storage. The overall components of the system are fully functional as individual units and in combination as a complete system.
The objective of the project is to further develop and improve the main components of the first generation system. SUNTHERM's heat pump and heat storage unit. This will be accomplished in part by identifying and optimizing the operation of the heat pump and performance of the heat storage unit - e.g. identifying optimal conditions for operation with regards operating temperatures, storage capacity, domestic hot water needs etc.
The identified improvements will then be implemented, tested and verified so that theory is translated into measureable, real-world results and knowledge. Furthermore, the findings will contribute to maturing the SUNTHERM domestic heating system for export as a whole.
