HyLift-FLEX - Flexible and scalable fuel cell power system for materials handling
The project has resulted in the development of a 10 kW fuel cell system called H2Drive (R) for vehicles for material handling vehicles. H2Drive (R) containing fuel cell and battery pack, and can deliver 10 kW continuous and 30 kW at peak load.
The project has resulted in the development of a 10 kW fuel cell system for internal transport called H2Drive (R). The system has the same dimensions as a 80V battery pack, with a capacity of 840 ampere-hours, and can thus be used in a variety of material handling vehicles such as fork-lift trucks and airport tow tractors. H2Drive (R) contains fuel cell and battery pack, and can deliver 10 kW continuous and 30 kW at peak load. The efficiency is 51% and compared to previous systems, the system has been simplified and improved, for instance in frost protection, noise reduction and remote monitoring. H2 Logic has collaborated with the German manufacturer of tow tractors, Mulag GmBH. The result is a tow tractor that are ready for demonstration from March 2012. Demonstration in six airports are scheduled in Germany, the UK and Denmark.
