Crestwing close to full scale prototype

The purpose of the project is final engineering, drawing, design, production and installation of a Crestwing prototype close to full scale. It will show its potential and demonstrate its high efficiency and survivability through a two- year test program.
Project description
The purpose of the project is final engineering, design, production and installation of a Crestwing prototype close to full scale. It will show its potential and demonstrate its high efficiency and survivability. The atmospheric pressure is the background for how Crestwing works and by this manner it absorbs both the kinetic and the potential energy. The device consists of two hinged pontoons there is no air between the device and the surface of the sea, and as a result, the device is as if glued to the surface, with a potential force of 10tons per square meter. The mechanical Power Take off has an efficiency of about 90% of the incoming energy generating into electricity. The incoming energy from the relative movements between the two pontoons is transformed to power production through a push rod attached between the pontoons, which initiates the PTO system when the pontoons are pushed up and dragged down by the waves. The anchor system has three flexible anchor lines that can stretch 80% without deformation allowing the device to exploit its full energy potential and preventing sudden forces from the waves, preventing accidents and minimizing the environmental footprint.
