DSOs' Role in the Elecriticity Marked; DREM
The objective is to develop the communication process and the tools/methods adequate for the DSO to deploy to avoid that the trade on the electricity markets is not threatening the supply security.
In Markedsmodel 2.0, USEF work, (earlier) EU documents have the role of the DSO been almost neglected. In addition, we observe that with the increasing renewable energy in the electricity system, the market transactions will increase.
However, trade in the electricity market at a certain time and place can produce congestion in the distribution grid and therefore supply security cannot be ignored any longer in the development. Therefore, DREM sat from land to investigate what situations could threaten the supply security and produce ill-timed investment in grid reinforcements.
The project is divided into two main phases. Representatives from the entire energy sector participate in investigating what use cases can be produce challenges for the DSP and what tools/responses would be adequate for the DSP. In the next phase a number of the typical use cases are demonstrated in reality in order to verify that chose solutions are sufficient and optimal for all parties.
